Learn about Doha Metro in Qatar

Doha Metro, which is at the forefront of our projects, aims to provide a modern transportation network that connects the most important destinations in Doha and its suburbs. Most parts of the network are located underground in Doha. There is no doubt that Doha Metro will form the main pillar of the integrated public transportation system in the State of Qatar, and will bring about a qualitative shift in the way people move.

Doha Metro is also part of the transportation master plan, which is one of the supporting pillars for achieving Qatar National Vision 2030

The metro network was planned to be built in two phases, the first of which includes three lines out of four (Red, Gold and Green) and 37 stations, and these three lines were completed in 2020. Future phases include preparing for the construction of an additional line and expanding the existing lines.

The stations were designed based on the modern concept of “arched space”, which reflects the regional heritage dimension by introducing open spaces that mimic traditional Bedouin tents. The station design also relies on the use of traditional elements of Islamic and local architecture, making the station a unique embodiment of Qatari heritage.
